Corbet Blanton, Sr, age 88 of Clyde, passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at The Bellevue Hospital in Bellevue, OH. Corbet was born September 17, 1933 in Kentucky, the son of the late Jewell Blanton (Hall).
Corbet enjoyed his time as a member of Wayside Temple in Castalia, OH. He worked for Whirlpool in Clyde for 44 years until his retirement. He enjoyed gardening and often gave out all of his produce to friends and family. He also enjoyed fishing, playing poker, and horse racing. Above all though, he enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren, who all have great memories of the lawn mower rides he would give them.
Corbet is survived by his children: Jeffrey (Angie) Blanton, Tamara (Richard) Hill, Sharie (Sam) Starks, and Carrie Frankart; daughter-in-law, Deborah Blanton; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild; brother, Leo (Bonnie) Blanton; and sister, Donna Jean.
In addition to his parents, Corbet was preceded in death by his wife, Susan Blanton (Thomas), whom he married July 25, 1959; son, Corbet Blanton, Jr; son-in-law, Tim Frankart; brothers: Oscar and Cecil Jenkins; and special friend, Betty Cheek.
Friends will be received Sunday, January 9, 2022 from 4-7:00pm at Foos Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 504 E. McPherson Hwy, Clyde, OH 43410. A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 10, 2022 at 11:00am at Wayside Temple, 3809 Maple Ave, Castalia, OH 44824. Burial will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Clyde.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Corbet’s honor to the donor’s favorite charity.
