Cheryl Ruffing, 68, of Bellevue, Ohio, passed away Friday, March 26, 2021, at Hospice of Central Ohio at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Cheryl was born January 11, 1953, in Shelby, Ohio, the daughter of Doyle and Elizabeth (Ashbrook) Blythe.
As a devoted mother and “Maw Maw,” Cheryl cherished time with her family and spent countless joyful hours with her grandchildren, with whom she had a special bond. She was especially proud of her children.
A lifelong resident of northern Ohio, Cheryl was a dedicated friend to many and always enjoyed visits and trips with those she loved, particularly to some of her favorite places: Put-in-Bay, Marblehead, and Cedar Point.
Never one to complain, Cheryl spent her life putting others first.
She is survived by her son, Matthew (Erin Meyer) Ruffing, of Evansville, Indiana; daughter, Katie (Mike) Spaniel, of Sycamore, Ohio; her beloved grandchildren, Ayla and Owen Spaniel; and granddog, Gracie.
In addition to her parents, Cheryl was preceded in death by her husband, Urban Ruffing, in 1988 and her sister, Patti Beamer.
At Cheryl’s request, no services will be held. Foos & Foos Funeral Service, Bellevue is assisting the family with arrangements.
