Charles Holmer Obituary

Charles A. Holmer, 84, of Bellevue passed away Thursday, April 16, 2020 at The Willows at Bellevue.  He was born in 1935 the son of Charles A. Holmer and Carmella (Luzio) Holmer-Watson.

A 1953 graduate of Bellevue High School, Charles went on to become a Plumber and Pipefitter until he retired in 1997.  Along with his occupation, he was a member of the Plumber’s & Steamfitters Local 42, Norwalk, Ohio for 34 years.  He was also a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Knights of Columbus, Eagles Aerie 490, and the Four County Young-At-Heart.  He enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing pool and various card games especially Euchre.  Charles cherished the time he spent with his children & grandchildren and will be remembered as his grandchildren’s #1 fan attending all the sporting events, cheerleading competitions, band concerts, dance recitals and drama presentations they were involved in.  When asked if he loved Elaine he responded "yes always".

He is survived by the love of his life, Elaine (Neer) whom he married on May 7, 1955 at St. Peter & Paul’s Church in Sandusky; two children, Jeffrey (Diane) Holmer of Bellevue and Deborah (Jack) Freeman of Bellevue; four grandchildren: Lisa (Ronald) Syverson, Dana (Ryan) Hall, Izaak Holmer, and Jacob Holmer; two sisters, Janet Sellers and Beth Graham, both of California; along with numerous nieces, nephew, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Holmer in 1968.

As an expression of love and concern for the community, Charles’ family will be holding private services.  A memorial gathering for the public will be announced at a later date.  Foos & Foos Funeral Service, Bellevue is in care of arrangements.
