Carol Hilling, 78, of Sandusky, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at The Bellevue Hospital. She was born in Morgantown, WV, on July 22, 1946, the daughter of Clifford B. Keener Sr. and Sarah (Nestor) Knowlton.
Carol was a member of Venice Road Baptist Church in Sandusky. She found joy in gardening, crafts, and sewing, and loved playing pinochle with friends. Her family was her greatest treasure, and she especially cherished "slumber parties" with her great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Ronald (Kim) Hilling of Bellevue; daughter, Lori Glover of Huron; three grandchildren: Christine (Corey) Smith, Ashley (Brent) Herman, and Brooke (Brandon) Gentry; and ten great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother, Sarah Knowlton of Morgantown; brothers, Frank (Judy) Keener of Morgantown and Clifford (Betty) Keener Jr. of Lovely, KY; and sister, Joyce (Ralph) Phillips of Morgantown.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her longtime boyfriend, William “Corky” Carey.
Friends will be received on Friday, July 18, from 11 a.m. until a memorial service begins at Noon at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue.
