Brennan Matter

Brennan Matter, 24 of Bellevue passed away Thursday, February 4, 2021 in Toledo, Ohio at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.  He was born on June 29, 1996 in Bellevue.

Brennan was a 2015 graduate of Bellevue Senior High School where he attended EHOVE.  Brennan was a unique individual. He was full of life with a passion for the outdoors, whether it be hiking, camping, or staring up at the stars. He enjoyed traveling the United States to not only learn its history but to adventure to new places. His favorite was exploring old forts and battleships. Europe was next on his travel list. Of all his joys, Brennan’s biggest passion was computer gaming. He would play day and night if he could. He also enjoyed games like Magic: The Gathering, Dungeons and Dragons, and the classics.

Volunteering was central to Brennan’s life. He volunteered at the German American Festival to help with the Steinstossen and Masskrugstemmen events. He spent time delivering groceries to the elderly at Rotary Commons. Brennan was the type of person who would always be there for you if you needed help or a shoulder on which to lean.

Brennan spent summers at Camp Nuhop to learn and teach others how to accept and love themselves. He went from being a child participant to a counselor. His drive to always include people and let them know someone cared was what made him so special. 

Brennan is survived by his grandmother, Jodi Matter of Bellevue; Aunt, Misty (Kyle) Brown of St. Louis, Missouri; and their daughter, Adalyne who he adored; along with numerous other family members and friends.

Brennan is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Leon Matter. Great Aunt Carolyn (Paul) Roth.

Private graveside services will be held for Brennan and his family.  Foos & Foos Funeral Service, Bellevue is in care of arrangements.
