Blanca Estela Dean, age 61 of Poplar Grove, IL, passed away, Thursday, October 3, 2024, at Agrace Hospice, in Fitchburg, WI. Blanca was born January 23, 1963, in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico, the daughter of Rodolfo Castañeda and Maria Guadalupe de la Torre.
Blanca was a parishioner of St. James Catholic Church in Belvidere, IL, and a loyal, passionate member of ZUMBA at Celia’s Dance Education Center, also in Belvidere. She was renowned for her skill in baking and cake decorating. She was beloved by all who knew her, and her favorite thing, above all, was gathering together with her family.
Blanca is survived by her husband, William Russell “Russ” Dean of Poplar Grove, IL; children: William Russell “Rusty” (Laurie) Dean II of Rockford, IL, Aaron (Maggie) Dean of Madison, WI, and Kary (Koty) Dean Carpenter of Rochelle, IL; granddaughter, Anastasia “Annie” Dean; and siblings: Martha, Patricia, Alvaro, Adriana, Claudio, Maria Rosaly “Chaly”, and Sandra.
Blanca is preceded in death by her parents.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Pl, Bellevue, OH, 44811, at 1:30pm. Burial will follow at Bellevue City Cemetery.
