Betty J. (Ziegler) Henney

Betty June (Ziegler) Henney, 87, of Bellevue passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at the Willows at Bellevue.  She was born June 22, 1932 in Bloomville, Ohio the daughter of Frank L. and Mary E. (Watson) Ziegler. 

Betty married Donald “Pete” Henney on September 14, 1952 at Flat Rock Ebenezer United Methodist Church; He preceded her in death in 1979.

Betty worked at Thompson School and then Bellevue High School until her retirement in 1992.  She was a member of Flat Rock Ebenezer United Methodist Church where she was active in various activities.  Through those activities Betty made many friends that she enjoyed spending time with outside of church.  At home, Betty enjoyed knitting, crocheting, watching the hummingbirds, planting flowers and tending to her garden and beloved strawberries.

She is survived by her son, Bruce (Dena) Henney, of Bellevue; daughters: Kimberly (Charles) Boyer of Tiffin, Suzanne Good of Bellevue, and Diane (Paul) Williams of Acworth, Georgia; 11 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Betty is preceded in death by her siblings: Marion “Bob” Ziegler, Glen “Buster” Ziegler, Twila Ledbetter, Mary Beamer, Eva Stockmaster, Amelia Snyder, and Joyce Snyder; and son-in-law, John Good.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Flat Rock Cemetery, TR 178, Bellevue.  Foos & Foos Funeral Service, Bellevue is in care of arrangements.
