Bernard Elmlinger

Bernard Elmlinger, 84, of Monroeville passed away Sunday, May 29, 2022, at the Norwalk Memorial Home.  He was born August 23, 1937, in Bismarck the son of Herman and Madeline (Thomas) Elmlinger.

Bernie was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monroeville as well as the Knights of Columbus and Eagles.  He enjoyed fishing, throwing horseshoes, and playing cards especially with his family.

He married Judy (Finkler) Elmlinger on July 14, 1962, at Immaculate Conception Church in Bellevue.  She preceded him in death on April 26, 2022.

Bernie is survived by four children: Suzanne (Rick Trushel) Elmlinger of Willard, Douglas (Tina) Elmlinger of Monroeville, Patrick Elmlinger of Toledo, and Thomas (Kelley Keaton) Elmlinger of Monroeville; Grandchildren: Madison Elmlinger, Katelyn Elmlinger, Lillian Elmlinger, Alexis Elmlinger, Zack Keaton, and Morgan Patten; and brother, Richard (Sharon) Elmlinger.

In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by a sister, Roseanna Cieslewicz.

At Bernie’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral Mass.  There will be a mass in Bernie and Judy’s honor in July as it nears what would have been their 60th wedding anniversary at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Monroeville.
