Barbara Lou Lynch

Barbara Lou (Hartman) Lynch, age 90, of Bellevue passed away at home with her family present September 16, 2021.  The daughter of Ruby E, (Ring) and Warren J. Hartman, she was unexpectedly born during a brief visit in Stockton, CA, before living in the Toledo area until the age of 70.

Barb was a graduate of Waite High School.  She was a talented florist; and had a career in the Toledo and Bellevue areas from the age of 18 until fully retiring at the age of 81.  She was also a gifted china painter.  Barbara’s true gift, however, was that of a mother – she gave it her all.  She created a wonderful home, was a renowned baker, sewed clothes, set high expectations, provided what was needed to encourage talents and hobbies, and made holidays magical.  Barbara also served as president of franklin Elementary PTA and was an officer of the school’s Mother’s Club.  After moving to Bellevue in 1999 she could often be found serving in the kitchen or office of First United Methodist Church, Bellevue.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Louann (Kerry) Snow of Bellevue, and son, Douglas Warren Lynch of Spokane, Washington.  Also surviving are her 3 grandchildren; Kara E. (William) Mitchell, Collin “Buddy” S. (Heather) Snow, and Katlyn L (Randall) Flanary, all of Bellevue; and her 4 great-grandchildren; Marcus, Annabelle, and Emery Mitchell, and Teagan Flanary.  Her sister Patricia Hosko; brother, Dale Hartman; and daughter-in-law, Eva (Mark) Waldron survive along with nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Donald Edwin Lynch whom she married May 24, 1954, in Toledo; and her eldest son Donald Patrick Lynch.

A graveside service will be held at St. Paul’s Cemetery, Lyme Twp., on Tuesday, Sep. 21, 2021, at 11:00 am.

Memorials may be made to Bellevue First United Methodist Church or Stein Hospice.
