Barbara Hall Obituary

Barbara Hall, 78, of Sacramento, CA passed away Monday, August 17, 2020 after a short battle with lung cancer.  She was born March 16, 1942 in Bellevue, Ohio the daughter of Edward Paul and Marian Helen Shoemaker.

Barbara was a member of Adventure Christian Church, Sacramento.  She served for many years in numerous roles, a valuable friend and support to many.  Her pastor referred to her as a “modern day Dorcas” as noted in the Book of Acts 9:36.  Barbara also enjoyed cooking and gardening.  She had many recipes that were the talk of the town.  Her legendary Thanksgiving stuffing, potato salad, spaghetti sauce and baked beans will live on through the lives of many who loved her.  

She is survived by her sister, Shirley Martin, of Harrison, TN, two sons, John Hall of Dana Point, CA and Jeffrey Hall of Roseville, CA, two daughters-in-law, Alexia and Cynthia, 5 grandchildren; Fred, Alonzo, Samantha, Julia and Amber, and 1 great grandchild, Marleigh.   Barbara considered being a Grandmother one of her life’s greatest pleasures and was present for all of their important events.

In addition to her parents, her brother, Richard “Butch” Shoemaker, and her son William “Billy” Hall preceded Barbara in death.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, September,19 from 10-11:00 am at Bellevue Cemetery. The family urges those who are at risk to attend the graveside service prepared with masks and honoring social distancing.
