Arlene Engelhardt Obituary

Arlene Engelhardt, 64, of Clyde, joined Jesus Christ on December 20, 2020 surrounded by her family, at Toledo Promedica Hospital.

Arlene was born the youngest of 7 children to Leo and Helen Cox on February 5th, 1956 in Toledo Ohio. She had 3 brothers, Donnie, Joseph and Gary, as well as 3 sisters, Diane, Judy and her twin sister Marlene.

Arlene created her own family including 4 children, who she raised with guidance from God. Leah Cox of Bellevue, Lindsey Engelhardt of Fremont, Kayla (Kevin) Jones of Bellevue and Christian Engelhardt of Clyde. She was also loved by her Grandchildren.  Vanessa, Christopher, Jasmine, Natalie, Zoey, Benjamin, Ryan, Nathaniel, Maverick, and Lincoln.

She enjoyed her time spent with her children and grand children. She also enjoyed playing scrabble and yahtzee, going to eat with her family and friends and watching television. Arlene spent a large portion of her adult life writing a book about her journey with Christ and was so proud when she completed her goal of becoming a published writer!
Arlene has always been the type of person who drew people in and captured their hearts instantly. She had a contagious smile. She touched the lives of so many people and leaves behind so many people who will cherish her memory.

Though Arlene's life was not without struggle, God, her Savior guided her. Her faith never altered, with his love her spirit was always high. She truly lived her life for God. She raised her children with spiritual roots. She has always been the first to give the last she had to help anyone who needed. She shared her faith and trust in God with her family, friends and everyone else who entered her life. There was not a soul she met who she did not love, and pray for.

Arlene is survived by her children, and grandchildren. Also her life companion, Daniel Hoffman and Best Friend of 34 years, Mark Behnfeldt, her nieces and nephews, along with so many others whom she welcomed into her family along the way. She was welcomed to heaven by her parents and all of her siblings.

Arlene does not wish to be mourned, rather her homecoming celebrated. In place of a standard funeral she asked that we celebrate her return to God by gathering and rejoicing. She wished we, family, friends and all who entered her life gather, eat a feast, listen to music and remember her beautiful life. Her life will be celebrated on Sunday, January 24th 2021 at 3:00pm-7:00pm. This will be held at 1310 Siler St. Fremont, OH 43420.
