Alvin Joseph Didion, age 77 of Bellevue, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at his residence. He was born September 10, 1942 in Bellevue the son of the late Joseph & Loretta (Martin) Didion.
Alvin worked for Norfolk & Southern Railroad, Bellevue, for 35 years and he was involved in farming with his brothers. Prior to working at the railroad, Alvin worked for the Bellevue Gazette, Ruggles Feed Service, and G.W. Didion Brothers, Sandusky.
He enjoyed keeping up to date with current agriculture information, trends, and grain markets. He was a member of the Ohio Farm Bureau.
He looked forward to yearly winter vacations in Florida, enjoying the warm weather and visiting with family and friends.
Alvin was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Monroeville. He loved being with his family, and especially enjoyed his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia (Hillis) Didion, whom he married May 4, 1968 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Huron, daughter, Cynthia (Thomas) Van Slambrouck of Macomb Twp., MI; grandchildren, Joshua and Abigail Van Slambrouck; brothers, Norbert Didion of Bellevue, Kenneth Didion of Monroeville and brother-in-law, Paul Camp of Monroeville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Ann Camp, and sister-in-law, Theresa Didion.
Friends will be received Sunday, September 13, 2020 from 2 – 7 pm at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. A funeral Mass will be held Monday, September 14, 2020 at 11:00am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 66 Chapel St., Monroeville. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Monroeville.
