Steven J. Sours

Steven J. Sours, age 65 of Clyde, passed away Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Fremont Memorial Hospital. Steve was born August 16, 1952 in Fremont, the son of the late James and June (McKelvey) Sours.

Steve worked at Whirlpool for many years and also owned Sours Gun and Bow. He loved spending time with his family. He was a member of the Clyde Moose, VFW, ATA, NRA, Four County Gun Club, and the Single Action Shooting Society where he was known by his cowboy name, “Buckeye Steve.” He was active in Western Wild West reenactments and loved to hunt. He was a fan of Mustangs and Harley-Davidsons.

Steve is survived by his wife, Kathy (Kovasckitz) whom he married June 22, 2002; three sons: Matthew (Buffy) Sours of Fremont, Aaron Sours of Clyde, and Kevin Sours of Clyde; two Step-sons: Zachariah (Liz) Spitzer of North Carolina and Andrew Spitzer of Clyde; two Step-daughters: Heather (Jeffrey) Smith of Michigan and Tricia (Thomas Schwartz) Spitzer of Clyde; one brother: Scott (Tami Jackson) Sours of Clyde; one sister: Vicki (Ernie) Robles of Norwalk; 15 grandchildren; and his in-laws: Ray Salazar of Clyde, Kristine (Jeff) Molyet of Tiffin, and Laurie (Steve) Starr of Clyde.

In addition to his parents, Steve is preceded in death by his daughter, Nicole Sours, and his sister, Diane Branch.

Friends will be received Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 1:00-5:00 pm at Foos Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 504 E. McPherson Hwy, Clyde OH 43410, with a service at 5:00pm. A dinner will follow at the Clyde Moose Club.

Memorial donations may be made in Steve’s honor to the Four County Conservation League.
