Robert Gardner, Sr

Robert Gardner Sr., 85, of Bellevue passed away Sunday, March 25, 2018 at the Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky.  He was born December 31, 1932 in Bellevue the son of John P. and Eva (Joy) Gardner. 

He was a graduate of York High School and Retired from Routh Packing Company.  He was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, American Legion Post 46, Eagles Aerie 490, Lyme Village, and St. Paul’s Dart-ball team.

He is survived by his children: Robert (Wendy) Gardner Jr. of Ashville, OH, Gale (Gary) Taylor of Crawfordville, FL, David (Connie) Schaffer of Attica, Linda (Brad) Bischoff of Monroeville, Becky (Allen) Swander of Green Springs, Henry Keith (Fely) Oney of Albuquerque, NM, Gerri (Jim) Dunfee of Sandusky, and Bobbi Linder of Bellevue; 17 grandchildren; many great and great –great grandchildren; his special friend, Cheryl Springer; and two brothers, Verle (Jean) Gardner of Akron, and John Gardner of Decatur, IL.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his former wives, Betty Gardner and Marge Gardner; and brothers, Maurice and Arthur Gardner.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 from 4-7 p.m. at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue.  A funeral service will begin on Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s U.C.C., 428 Kilbourne St., Bellevue, OH 44811.  Burial will follow at Bellevue City Cemetery.
