Owen "Scooch" Collins

Owen “Scooch” Collins, age 70 of Bellevue, passed away at The Willows of Bellevue on October 22, 2017 after battling lung and heart issues for several years. Scooch was born December 12, 1946 in Bellevue the son of the late Owen and Katherine Collins.

Scooch graduated from Bellevue High School in 1965. Upon graduation he spent a year at Dayton University, and entered the Navy Reserves in 1966. He worked on the N&S Railway as a fireman/engineer for 42 years until his retirement in 2007. He was a member of the Bellevue Eagles and the Elks. Scooch was an avid golfer. He started playing the game at the age of 13 and played up until the last few years.

Survivors include his wife, Kathryn (Barnhardt), whom he married in 1983; two children: Mitchel (Tracey) Hartley of Avon, and Meredith Hartley of Bellevue; two brothers: Patrick Collins of Sandusky, and Daniel Collins of Columbus; his sister, Peggy Kuns of Lorain; six grandchildren: Leah, Merick, Max, Logan, Mason, and Tyler; and his precious pup, Lucylou.

Friends will be received Wednesday, October 25, 2017 from 4-7 p.m. at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Pl., Bellevue, OH 44811. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at First United Methodist Church of Bellevue, 901 Northwest St., Bellevue, OH 44811. Burial will follow at Bellevue Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Scooch’s honor to the Huron County Humane Society, 246 S. Woodlawn Ave., Norwalk, OH 44857.
