Mary Ann Schoen, 82, of Bellevue passed away Thursday, August 9, 2018 at The Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky. She was born January 19, 1936 in Cleveland, Ohio the daughter of Harold and Magdaline (Simon) Zipfel.
Mary Ann married Sylvester F. “Zip” Schoen on July 21, 1956 at Norwalk St. Paul Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on April 15, 2012.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Bellevue and the Altar Rosary Society. Eagles Auxiliary and served as Girl Scout Leader for 15 years. She also served as an elementary school teacher at Immaculate Conception School for a few years and she volunteered there for many years.
Mary Ann is survived by her two sons: Paul (Kay) Schoen of Bellevue, and David (Amy) Schoen of Powell, Ohio; two daughters: Linda (Nicholas) Valentine of Cincinnati, OH and Kathy (Fred) Herold of Lima, OH; 8 grandchildren: Katrina, Zachary, Nicolle, Nathan, Sierra, Mitchell, Mindy and Bradley; and 10 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Friends will be received on Friday, August 17, 2018 from 4-7 p.m. at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue where the Rosary will be recited at 3:30 pm. A funeral Mass will begin on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 231 E. Center Street, Bellevue. Burial will follow at Bellevue Catholic Cemetery. Following committal services, friends and family are invited to a luncheon which will be held at Immaculate Conception Church.
Memorials can be made to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky or Immaculate Conception Church.
