Mary E. Cox

Mary E. Cox (O’Neil), age 66 of Clyde, passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky. Mary was born July 16, 1951 in Bellevue, the daughter of the late John and Emma O’Neil

Mary attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Clyde. She was a Bellevue High School graduate and a big Green Bay Packers and Ohio State fan. She was a longtime employee at McDonald’s until her retirement in 2012. Her hobbies included spending time with her grandchildren, gardening and tending to her plants, and collecting angels. It is estimated she collected around 500 angels.

Mary is survived by her husband, Richard Cox, whom she married June 15, 1973 in Bellevue; two sons: John R. (Sara) Cox of Clyde and Timothy A. Cox of Clyde; three brothers: James A. (Terri) O’Neil of Bellevue, Michael J. (Kimberly) O’Neil of Bellevue, and Jerrold T. (Rose) O’Neil of Tiffin; four sisters: Loretta (Mark) Clark of Florida, Karen (Art) Maines of Clyde, Sharon Hintz of Clyde, and Patricia (Dan) Waugh of Clyde; three grandchildren: Ashley Daniels, Jewel Cox, and Jacen Cox; and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her son, Scott Cox, and brother, John O’Neil.

Friends will be received Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Foos Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 504 E. McPherson Hwy., Clyde, OH, from 3:00pm until 5:00pm when a memorial service will be held.
