Keith E. “Pete” Mygrant, 93, of Bellevue passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the Firelands Regional Medical Center. He was born May 31, 1924 in Van Buren, OH the son of Warren Waldo and Helen Elizabeth (DeLong) Mygrant.
Keith was a member of Flat Rock Ebenezer UMC where he was very active serving as Sunday School Teacher and Superintendent; a member of the Choir; and also served as Trustee. He served in the United States Army. He was a Boy Scout Leader for many years and earned the Silver Beaver Award, for service and dedication to Scouting. He was a member of American Legion Post 46, a lifetime member of the Four County Conservation Club, Ohio National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution and a 25 gallon Blood Donor.
Pete had a long and varied work career with the NKP Railroad then Modern Builders, in which he became an owner.
Keith is survived by his wife, Olive (Taylor) whom he married Oct. 1, 1944 in Ballville, OH; Eight Children: Randee (Charles) Becker of West Harrison, IN, Gail (Franklin) Veith of Bellevue, James (Marla) Mygrant of Bellevue, Thomas (Pamela) Mygrant of Bellevue, Kenneth Mygrant of Cane Beds, AZ, Beverly (Richard) Holmes of Berlin Heights, Jeffery (Cynthia) Mygrant of Green Springs, OH, and Robin Mygrant of Bellevue; 23 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren with 2 more expected this spring; 5 great-great grandchildren; 2 great-great-great grandchildren; a brother, Merlin “Mike” Mygrant of Findlay; and sister, Ruth (Ned) Ammons of Genoa.
He is preceded in death by his parents and 2 infant great grandsons.
Friends will be received on Friday, January 26, 2018 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Flat Rock Ebenezer UMC, 7500 N Co Rd 29, Flat Rock, OH.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donating blood in his memory or memorials to The American red Cross or Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
