Ida Jean Garrard, 83, of Bellevue passed away Saturday, October 19, 2019 at The Willows at Bellevue.
She was born September 29, 1936 in Wayne County, West Virginia the daughter of William and Charlene (Daniels) Gipson.
Ida enjoyed time with her family and friends. She treasured her grandchildren and great grandchildren and would do anything needed to ensure their happiness.
Ida had wonderful times with her best friends. They enjoyed traveling, shopping, and sitting around her kitchen table drinking coffee. Food was always a theme that brought Ida together with her friends and family, rather it was at her home, where there was always a homemade dessert on the end of her kitchen bar, or if she was making holiday meals that included her famous brown sugared ham, pickles eggs, or the best ever mashed potatoes, you were sure to never be around "Idy" and have an empty stomach.
Idy will be missed and remembered for her characteristics that made her who we love. Her generosity, honesty, strong will, and freely voiced opinions will never be forgotten, and will continue to bring a smile to the faces of everyone who loved her.
We take peace in knowing Idy is in heaven driving her Thunderbird, eating all the treats she loved, and enjoying her freedom and healed body while she awaits her family and friends to arrive.
Ida is survived by her husband, Burnis Clifton Garrard, whom she married January 19, 1956 in Cleveland; a son, Keith Garrard of Bellevue; daughter, Debbie (Mike) Druckenmiller of Fremont; 4 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and brother, Charles Gipson.
She is preceded in death by her parents and three sisters: Evelyn, Donna, and Dixie.
Friends will be received on Friday, October 25, 2019 from Noon until a memorial service begins at 1 p.m. at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue.
