Ethel Brooks

Ethel Brooks, 82, of Bellevue passed away Saturday, October 28, 2017 at her home. She was born January 30, 1935 in New Tazewell, TN the daughter of Thomas and Willie (Smith) Braden. She married Junior L. Brooks on July 14, 1950 in New Tazewell.

Ethel worked for many years in the offices of Dr. Dubashi and Dr. Nicely as an administrative assistant. She was a member of the Red Hat’s, TOPS, and volunteered at Pass-It-On Clothing. In her younger years, she enjoyed camping and bowling.

Ethel is survived by her daughter, Kathy (Curt) Boyd of North Carolina; 12 grandchildren: Kelly, Ryan, Carrie, Chip, Lisa, Cindy, Cory, Mark II, Chad, Heather, Jill and Ashley; 8 great grandchildren: Alex, Abbey, Miles, Kaiden, Gianna, Hallie, Oakley, and Dalton; two sisters: Ella Mae Moore of Michigan, Grace Collier of Michigan; and Daughter-in-law’s: Christine Brooks of Bellevue and Teresa Brooks of Huron.

Ethel is preceded in death by her husband, Junior L. Brooks in 2003; sons: Mark T. Brooks in 2012, Ronald L. Brooks in 2016, and Donald R. Brooks in 2017; two sisters, Elsie Bondie and Ruby Mell; brother, Clyde Braden; and son-in-law, Dean Gray.

Friends will be received on Thursday, November 2, 2017 from Noon – 2 p.m. at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue where a funeral service officiated by Rev. Diane Carter will begin at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde.
