Edward Soldano

Edward Charles Soldano, 87, lifetime resident of Bellevue, Ohio, passed away Monday, January 15, 2018, at Firelands Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.

Edward was born June 22, 1930, to Joseph and Josephine (Cucaro) Soldano.  A football athlete, Edward graduated from Bellevue High School in 1949, and later served the U. S. Navy on aircraft carrier U.S.S. Franklin D. Roosevelt from 1951-1954.

Edward enjoyed coaching basketball and football for the ICS Saints with good friend Gary LaFollette from 1966-1977.  He was also a member of both Immaculate Conception Church and the former Club Amer-Ital. Edward retired after 40 faithful years of service at Whirlpool (Clyde).

Edward is survived by Joanne (Colussi), his wife of 62 years, and four children: Karen (Greg) Beamer, St. Augustine, FL; Ann (John) Stiltner, Parkersburg, WV; David (Teresa) Soldano, Bellevue, OH; and Joseph (Denise) Soldano, Medina, OH; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary (Chuck) Baptista; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his sisters Julia Soldano and Vivian (Sandy) Nasonti, and brother-in-law Charles Baptista, Sr.

Cremation will take place at the request of the deceased with a private memorial at a later date.
