Corbet “Corby” Blanton, Jr. age 65 of Woodville entered into heaven when the Lord said “Enter into heaven good and faithful servant,” on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo. He was born May 30, 1952 in Norwalk the son of Corbet Blanton, Sr. of Clyde & Sedora Catano of Sandusky.
Corby was a deacon at Harvest Baptist Temple in Clyde where he was the director of the RU program, an addiction recovery program, and also had a jail ministry.
He married Deborah (Rider) Blanton Aug. 28, 1971 in Port Clinton, she survives him in Woodville.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Jeremy (Margaret Ali) Blanton of Fremont; daughter, Jennifer (Noel) Leonard of Green Springs; children: Garrett and Colista Conner of Woodville; grandchildren: Isaiah Mowery, Jacob Purdham, Dylan Mowery, Lacie Warren, Charlie Leonard, Jevin Rhimeberger, and Jaylen Blanton; a great-granddaughter due in June; brothers: Ronnie Warnick and Jeff (Angie) Blanton; and sisters: Tammi (Rich) Hill, Sharie (Sam) Starks, and Carrie Frankart.
He is preceded in death by his brother, David Catano; step mother, Sue Blanton; brother-in-law, Tim Frankart; and sister-in-law Robin Crawford.
Friends will be received Wednesday, May 16, 2018 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Foos Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 504 E. McPherson Hwy., Clyde OH 43410. A funeral service will be held Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 11:00 am at Harvest Baptist Temple, 1022 S. Main St., Clyde, OH 43410. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens in Clyde.
In lieu of flowers, Corby’s family requests monetary donations that will be used for Colista and Garrett’s school tuition at Harvest Christian Academy.
