Charles Alan Parks, 73, of Bellevue, Ohio died Oct. 24, 2017 at UTMC in Toledo following a brief illness.

Charles was born June 23, 1944 in Alliance, Ohio to Helen and William Leroy Parks. He was a graduate of Alliance High School and worked at Alliance Machine until moving to Bellevue, Ohio to work at GM in Sandusky and retired in 2004. He and his wife Susan are the owners of C A Parks Signs.

Charles was an avid skeet shooter and in 1976 he won The High Overall and 410 World Championships. While winning these championships he was the first person to break a perfect score of 550 x 550 at the World Skeet Championships in San Antonio, Texas plus a perfect score of 100 in the 410 Prelim. He was inducted into the Ohio State Skeet Shooting Association Hall of Fame in 1996 and the National Skeet Shooting Association Hall of Fame in 2000. He was on the All American team 15 times and won countless Ohio State Championships. He also was presented the Stark County Sportsmen of the Year award 3 times. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons and grandchildren. If he was not watching the Cavs, Browns, Indians or Buckeyes he was probably at a sporting event for his two sons or his grandsons.

He and his wife Susan loved to ride their Harleys and was a member of the national HOG group. He was also a member of the Bellevue Eagles, Roby Lodge #534 Masonic Temple in Monroeville, Valley of Toledo Scottish Rite in Toledo, Zenobia Shrine and Althea Chapter #438 Order of the Eastern Star in Monroeville.

He is survived by his wife Susan Sherman Parks whom he married June 29, 1968. They are the proud parents of two sons and daughter-in-law’s, George and Kathryn (Malott) Parks (Bellevue) and Charlie and Julie (Muchowski) Parks (Bellevue). He is also survived by the loves of his life their 5 grandchildren; Nathan 12, Nicholas 10, Karaline 7, Brylee 4 and Knoxx 5 months. He is survived by his brother Mike (Joyce) Parks of Tallmadge and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Colleen (Charles) Craven, Betty (William) Carli, William (Mildred) Parks and Joanna.

Calling hours will be at Foos and Foos Funeral Service 151 Yorkshire Place Bellevue, Ohio Friday October 27 from 2pm until 7pm with Masonic Services at 6:30pm. Saturday October 28 calling hours 10am followed by funeral at 11am. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.
