Sandra Burgess Obituary

Sandra “Sandy” Burgess, 61, of Bellevue passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at The Bellevue Hospital.  She was born February 4, 1963, in Wyatt, Missouri, the daughter of Raymond and Thelma (Blagg) Watson.

Sandy's love for her family knew no bounds. Reaching far beyond and into the hearts of everyone that was fortunate enough to know her. Her nurturing spirit, unwavering support and boundless affection created a home filled with love and light, where memories were made and cherished forever. Sandy was a pillar of strength for her family. She provided endless and selfless love, support, and guidance. The wisdom, knowledge and understanding she carried in life was truly extraordinary. To say Sandy will be sorely missed is an understatement. Sandy enjoyed gardening; she loved her sunflowers. She would pack up all the grandkids on the golf cart and ride around admiring all the hard work she did planting the many dozens. She found happiness and fulfillment in the simplest things and that inspired us to embrace the beauty of every moment. Sandy dedicated her life to family and friends. She enjoyed just being around them under any circumstance. Her grandbabies were the light of her life along with her husband and children. Though she may no longer be with us in person, Sandy's legacy will live on in the hearts of all the beautiful souls she touched along her way.

Sandy married Michael S. Burgess on September 12, 1987 at the Bellevue Church of Christ.  He survives along with their children: Andrew M. Burgess of Bellevue, Heather (Justin E.) Stephens of Bloomville, and Michelle S. (Lucas J. Specht) Burgess of Fremont; Grandchildren: Jenna, Khloe, Jaxson, Elaine, Avery, Emmett, Bres, and Landen; sisters, Deborah Artino of Sandusky, Pamela (Randy) Eads of Monroeville, and Teresa A. Dudek of Bellevue; numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews; Father and mother -in-law, Charles and Laura Burgess; brother-in-law, Charles Burgess; sister-in-law, Debbie Wheeler; and beloved dog, Ruby Jane.

In addition to her parents, Sandy is preceded in death by her son, Bradley A. Burgess; infant brother, Manuel Raymond Watson; nephew, Brian L. Watson-Artino; and beloved dogs, Jack and Rocky.
