Ronald John Hofacker, age 81 of Clyde, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2024, at the Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky, OH. Ronald was born September 2, 1942, in Port Clinton, OH, the son of the late Gilbert and Lorine (Sonnichsen) Hofacker.
Ronald will be remembered as a hard-working family man. He was a great father who enjoyed watching football and baseball with his daughters. He owned R.J. Hofacker Construction for many years. It would be hard to put a number on how many houses and structures he built over the years. He even developed a street in Clyde in which he lovingly named after his wife, Marleen.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Marleen (Grenier) Hofacker, whom he married at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Sandusky in 1964; daughters: Amanda (Derrick) Coffman of Florence, AL, and Beth Tompkins of Clyde; grandson, Jackson Tompkins; and sister, Joanne Fleming of Port Clinton.
In addition to his parents, Ronald is preceded in death by his siblings: Patricia Freimark, Rosalie Hipp, Richard Hofacker, Gilbert Hofacker, Louise Worthington, and Eugene Hofacker.
Visitation will be open for everyone on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, from 12:00pm until 2:00pm with a funeral service beginning at 2:00pm at Foos Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 504 E. McPherson Hwy, Clyde, OH 43410. Burial will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Clyde.
Memorial donations may be made in Ronald’s honor to St. Mary Catholic Church, 609 Vine St, Clyde, OH 43410, or to The Bellevue Hospital Foundation, 1400 W. Main Street, Bellevue, Ohio 44811.
