Linda Walters Obituary

Linda L. Walters, 81, of McCutchenville Ohio passed away peacefully on March 9, 2024 at Autumnwood Care Center, Tiffin Ohio, surrounded by her family. 

Linda was born January 27,1943 in Troy Ohio to Evelyn (Ray) and Howard Ramsey of Urbana Ohio. She graduated from West Liberty Salem High School, Urbana Ohio in 1962. She married Edgar Walters on June 12,1963.

She is survived by son Dan and Robin (Keith) Walters of Manitowoc Wisconsin, daughter Dawn (Walters) and John DeWalt of Clyde Ohio, daughter Hope (Walters) and Jon Bowers of McCutchenville Ohio, seven grandchildren Paul DeWalt of Virginia, Russell and Michelle (Murski) DeWalt of Colorado, Jordan and Kalene (Goist) Zartman of Fostoria Ohio, Breanna (Zartman) Biller, Dillon Sickels of Perrysburg Ohio, Alex Walters and Evan Walters both of Wisconsin.  Four great-granddaughters Eliza DeWalt, Norah Hughes, Riley Zartman and Chloe Zartman along with many nieces and nephews. She was known to her great-grand-daughters as Grandma Sugar.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband and many beloved family members and friends.

Linda was a United States Womens Army Corp Veteran serving in the medical unit in Fort Hood Texas where she met her late husband. She raised three children and worked as a nurse's aid at St Francis, Green Springs Ohio until she moved into Physical Therapy under the supervision of Fred Fabrizio.  She mentored multiple physical therapy students during her employment at St Francis, Green Springs, OH and Autumnwood Care Center Physical Therapy Department, until she retired January 2008.

Linda was a member of Nifty Knitters, Clyde Ohio where she was surrounded by so many women and men that supported the needy.  They gathered together and crocheted, knitted hats, gloves, headbands, scarves, lap blankets and so much more for people in the community. She was a member of Old Fort Church, Old Fort Ohio for many years until moving to Clyde Ohio where she became a member of Clyde Christian Church, until she moved to McCutchenville to live with family.

If you ever had the pleasure of meeting or knowing Linda, you saw and felt her compassion to help others. Her smile would light up a room and her laugh was infectious.  

There will be no funeral services at this time.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date where she will be honored by a Veterans Memorial Service.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials/contributions can be made to Autumnwood Care Center and Southern Care Hospice of Seneca County.
