Amelia E. Bentley, age 82 of Clyde, passed away Monday, February 12, 2024, at the Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky, OH. Amelia was born on March 8, 1941, in Baldwin, WI, the daughter of the late Nels and Norma (Stork) Anderson.
Amelia was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church in Clyde where she played the piano for over 50 years. She was a woman of many talents. She loved to sing and also could play many instruments including the accordion. She loved to cook and bake, especially for potlucks at the church. She found much enjoyment in helping others in and out of the church. Amelia and Bill enjoyed traveling and going to the State and National Conventions. Even though her memory had escaped her in recent years her love for her family remained.
Amelia is survived by her husband, William Bentley, whom she married September 15, 2007 at the First Freewill Baptist Church; children: Cindy (Jeff Goins) Orshoski of Sandusky, Randy (Dena) Harmon of Marietta, GA; Lyn (Bill) Klein of Sheffield Lake, Janice (Chuck) Gibson of Clyde, and ; step-children: Tim Bentley of Clyde, and Starla Bentley of Clyde; grandchildren: Katie, Ryan, Joey, Paige, Andrew, Lauren, Julia, Sean, Nina, Ryan, Erin, Ben, Janette, Bethany, David, Jacob, Amber, Shaun, and Charles; step-grandchildren: Gordon, Ian, Nathan, Heidi, and Amanda; great-grandchildren: Ellie, Connor, Emmy, Carsyn, Laikynn, Cooper, Brody, Nora, Anna, Olivia, Harper, Amelia, and Dane; step-great-grandchildren: Jona, Mave, Kirsten, Ahri, Kai, Roan, and Simon; siblings: Bob Anderson and Lola Vos; sister-in-law, Ruth Anderson; and many special nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Amelia is preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Harmon; brothers, Dave Anderson and Nolan Anderson; son-in-law, Matt Orshoski; and step-son, Craig Bentley.
Friends will be received on Thursday, February 15, 2024, from 4-8:00pm at Foos Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 504 E. McPherson Hwy, Clyde, OH 43410. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024, at 11:00am, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde.
