Emma L. Ollervides, 82, of Clyde passed away Thursday, July 19, 2012 in Lockhart, TX. She was born November 25, 1929 in Los Indios, Texas, the daughter of Guadalupe L. and Rosa (Longoria) Gonzalez. She married Tito Ollervides June 17, 1946 in Harlingen, Texas; He preceded her in death in 2003.
Emma was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Clyde and also attended services at Victory Church, Fremont. She was member of the Hispanic Homebase Community of Clyde and Renew Cursillo Movement. She had been a nurses aide for 15 years at the former Eshelman’s nursing home in Clyde, employed at Joe’s Cleaners in Clyde for ten years, and a well-known seamstress in the community for many years.
She is survived by her sons, Joseph Tito (Karen) Ollervides, Carlos (Tammi) Ollervides, both of Clyde; daughters, Crusita (Felix) Sosa of Venice, FL, and Carmy (John) Burkett of Genoa; 23 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren; brother, Israel L. Gonzalez of Harlingen, TX, and son-in-law, Alfredo Diaz. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who loved her very much, as well as many dear friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Emma is preceded in death by her brothers, Guadalupe, Roberto, Erineo, and Juan Gonzalez; sisters, Elisa Temellosa, Eva Hernandez, Elva Pena and Rosa Rodriguez and daughter, Clarita Diaz.
Friends will be received Thursday, July 26, 2012 from 2-8 p.m. at Foos Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 504 E. McPherson Highway, Clyde. Additional calling hours will be held on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until a funeral service begins at 10:30 a.m. at Victory Church, Fremont. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
