Sylvester Jake Dendinger October 10th, 2009
Sylvester “Jake” Dendinger age 82 of CR 191, Bellevue passed away Saturday, Oct 10, 2009 at his daughter, Barbara Lawrence residence. He was born March 10, 1927 in Franks, OH the son of the late William & Frances (Daniel) Dendinger. Jake worked for NKP Railroad before opening Dendinger Brother’s SOHIO Station with his brother Gene. He retired in 1989. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 3rd Degree K of C, and a founding member of Car Coddlers of Ohio. He was an avid car collector and made doll houses for each of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include his sons, William “Bill” (Sue) Dendinger, Charles “Chuck” (Vicki) Dendinger, Ken (Mary) Dendinger, David (Marcy) Dendinger, daughters, Cheryl (Steve) Hay, Barbara (Dennis) Lawrence, Nancy (Jim) Swartz, Laurie (Frank) Berberick all of Bellevue, Step-Daughter Doris Higgins of Catawba, 21 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, brother Eugene “Gene” (Inez) Dendinger and sister, Anna Marie Meyer both of Bellevue, and a special friend Marge Sidoti of Sandusky. In addition to his parents his first wife Dolores Agnes (Stockmaster) Dendinger whom he married June 25, 1949 in Attica, his second wife of 10 yrs., Eleanor (Channel) Dendinger, 2 infant children and his great grandson Brayden Wambui preceded him in death. Friends will be received Tuesday, Oct 13, 2009 from 2-8 pm at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 pm. A funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, 11:00 am at Immaculate Conception Church, 231 E. Center St., Bellevue. Burial will follow at Bellevue Catholic Cemetery.
